Talya Buckbinder met the love of her life when she discovered the cello at age ten. Since then, she and her cello have gone on to attend the Mannes and Juilliard pre-college programs in New York. During that time, Ms. Buckbinder appeared as a soloist with the Bergen Youth Orchestra and the Juilliard Preparatory Orchestra. She received her BM from the New England Conservatory of Music under Paul Katz in 2013 and earned her Master Degree at the Juilliard School with Natasha Brofsky.
Ms. Buckbinder attended the Perlman Perlman Music Program from 2007 to 2014 and has participated in summer music festivals at BANFF, Tanglewood, Taos, and Yellow Barn, where she discovered her love for chamber music. Her most memorable experiences are those in which she has worked and performed with chamber music masters such as Itzhak Perlman, the Weilerstein Trio, and members of the Shanghai, Cleveland, Brentano, Enso, and Juilliard String Quartets.
Recently, she has performed with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and now plays with the New York Classical Players. With her cello, Ms. Buckbinder has performed in places such as Israel, China, Brazil, the PBS channel, and Carnegie Hall. She finds that she can touch audiences best with humor and authenticity in her concerts, and hopes to use this blend to inspire others with classical music.
